Eagan, Minn. (January 10, 2020) – The Vikings announced on Friday that the team has activated cornerback Nate Meadors to the 53-man roster. Minnesota officially sent cornerback Mackensie Alexander to the injured reserve.

Meadors (5-11, 194) rejoins the Vikings 53-man roster after spending the last 12 weeks of the regular season on the practice squad. The rookie cornerback was previously elevated to the active roster (9/12/19) where he saw action in his first two career games, totaling two tackles facing Green Bay and Oakland. Meadors was waived (9/28/19) and brought back to the practice squad (10/1/19). The San Bernadino, California, native originally signed with Minnesota on May 3, 2019, as an undrafted free agent but was waived during final cuts (8/31/19) before signing to the practice squad (9/1/19). A graduate of UCLA, Meadors appeared in 42 games with 30 starts over four seasons with the Bruins, posting 149 career tackles and 22 career pass breakups. In four games with the Vikings this preseason Meadors logged nine total tackles, two passes defensed and one interception, which he returned 30 yards for a touchdown.

Along with the roster moves on Friday, Vikings safety Jayron Kearse (toe/knee) was downgraded to out for Saturday’s game at San Francisco.
