Saquon Barkley, Evan Engram practice

If you were to listen to reports, New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley (ankle) and tight end Evan Engram (knee) are too unhealthy to play on Thursday night against the New England Patriots.

However, as the Giants took the practice field on Tuesday, both Barkley and Engram suited up and participated on a limited basis.

“You didn’t hear that from me. Some of the stuff that’s out there isn’t what we put our there,” head coach Pat Shurmur said when asked about the reports floating around.

“We’ll see,” Shurmur added when asked if the duo will be game-time decisions.

In addition to Barkley and Engram practicing, linebackers Tae Davis (concussion) and Alec Ogletree (hamstring) each practiced in full and appear to be a go barring any setbacks over the next 48 hours. Ditto right tackle Nate Solder (ankle) and linebacker Josiah Tauaefa (knee), who were also full participants.

Meanwhile, linebacker Lorenzo Carter (neck) participated on a limited basis, while running backs Wayne Gallman (concussion) and wide receiver Sterling Shepard (concussion) sat out.

Shepard and Gallman are expected to be inactive on Thursday night.
