49ers Wednesday Injury Report Week 3: Ford,...

The San Francisco 49ers will host the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday and their first injury report of Week 3 that was released on Wednesday shows that six players failed to practice earlier in the day.

Sitting out Wednesday’s practice for the 49ers were running back Tevin Coleman (ankle), defensive end Dee Ford (quadricep), wide receiver Jalen Hurd (back), tackle Joe Staley (fibula), safety Jaquiski Tartt (toe), and wide receiver Trent Taylor (foot)

Coleman, Hurd and Taylor were all inactive this past Sunday while Ford, Tartt and Staley were all injured during the 49ers Sunday win over the Cincinnati Bengals. Staley has already been ruled out for the next six to eight weeks with his injury and that means rookie tackle Justin Skule is likely to make his first NFL start Sunday against the Steelers. 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan said Ford and Tartt are both currently “day-to-day.”

Limited for the 49ers on Wednesday were defensive end Nick Bosa (ankle) and safety Jimmie Ward (hand). Bosa is expected to play against the Steelers while Ward, who was inactive for the game against the Bengals, is likely headed for another questionable status designation on Friday, He’s working his way back still after undergoing surgery two weeks ago to repair a broken finger.
